Summer at the Mercedes-Benz Museum
There will be action aplenty around the Mercedes-Benz Museum: from 21 June to 6 September 2009 the Museum Summer calls, with exciting exhibitions, events and specials, with everything from innovative safety technologies to relaxed lounge atmosphere and open-air cinema.

"With the Museum Summer we make our house a pulsating place even during the hot time of the year," says Michael Bock, Managing Director Mercedes-Benz Museum GmbH. "We've put together a really varied package with offers for those who stay at home and for tourists, or simply for people who are keen on cars. Visitors can rediscover and enjoy the Museum again and again throughout the summer – on Thursdays even until 9 p.m."

The Mercedes-Benz Lounge opens on the 20th of June to ring in the hot season one day before summer officially begins. Through the 6th of September people can enjoy summer drinks and food on the hill in front of the Museum and let it all hang out. From Tuesday to Sunday, every evening from 5 to 11 p.m., they'll be delighted by soft sounds, cosy lounge chairs and a fascinating atmosphere. On the 5th and 6th of September there will also be a big barbecue.

A show highlight of the Museum Summer is the special exhibition
Mercedes-Benz and Safety starting on 23 June 2009. Through the 16th of August an exhibition built around the brand-new experimental safety vehicle ESF 2009 will be presented in the Museum's Fascination of Technology section. In addition, historic ESF vehicles tell a story of trailblazing safety technologies from Mercedes-Benz.

The open-air stage of the Mercedes-Benz Museum becomes a festival venue in the setting of the jazzopen stuttgart. Between the 16th and 19th of July 2009, Joe Jackson, John Scolfield and Lee Ritenour, The Manhattan Transfer and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra will appear there.
From 21 August through 6 September 2009 it will be lights, camera, action at the open-air cinema! Visitors can expect to see a varied selection of films against an imposing architectonic backdrop (showing after sunset each day at around 9 p.m.).
Children's programme

The children's holiday programme at the Mercedes-Benz Museum is devoted this year again entirely to the topic of the automobile. From 4 to 28 August there will be an exciting programme that kids betweens the ages of 8 and 14 can join in. Starting time is always 9 a.m. Participation is free of charge; registrations are accepted by the Classic Customer Centre.

There's Jazz for Children on 19 July 2009 on the open-air stage. Children from the age of three can make music, dance and improvise with their parents, brothers and sisters and friends. Starts at 4 p.m.

Specials

This year the legendary Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows celebrate their 75th anniversary. On this occasion all persons 75 years of age will be admitted free to the Museum. A gift suggestion: the motor racing history package – bookable at the Classic Customer Centre.
