Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid - Click above for high-res image
Amid the begging and smack talk - excuse us, the glitz and glamor - of the Academy Awards last night, Mercedes-Benz decided to premiere its new advertising spot called "Tree of Innovation." The spot is designed to highlight the S400 Hybrid and the brand's "expanding repertoire of environmentally oriented vehicles," but mostly it's just Mercedes images hanging around a beautiful old tree.
Featuring the voice of Mad Men's Jon Hamm - Mercedes-Benz USA says he will be the "new 'voice' for MBUSA's advertising" - the ad mentions the S400 as well as Mercedes' BlueTEC clean diesel vehicles and it upcoming fuel cell vehicles. The S400, of course, will be the first production hybrid from a major automaker with lithium-ion battery packs. If you missed the ad while you were crying because Avatar didn't win, you can watch it after the jump.
